not as good as expected
This is an interesting book - one of a kind, but it lacked the profound or life-enhancing info I had expected based on a friend's recommendation. Written before many scientific discoveries, it makes analyses that have since been shown to be false, but they are harmless enough. Another downside is its support of eating, drinking, and being merry. The lack of opportunity to consistently overindulge, staggering to the TV or computer for a tense night of insomnia, made overindulging less harmful back then, but today, a full-speed-ahead quest for taste, sensation, and fulfillment via food and drink is nothing other than suicide. Having said that, it is refreshing to read about the joys of eating, of good friends, of setting a high standard, and of loving life. Worth a few bucks but not worth a reread.
