English summary: The Franciscan theologian Wilhelm von Ockham (1347), the "most brilliant of all scholastics" (Luther) put forward a doctrine of predestination which satisfied the requirements of traditional doctrine as well as his personal appreciation of the freedom of choice. Michael Beyer describes Ockham's doctrine of predestination and recognizes it as part of a well thought-out theological system that has no equal in terms of logical clarity. Within this system, the doctrine of predestination and justification always form a unity. Given that Luther's teachers in Erfurt had still been significantly influenced by the thinking of the Venerable Inceptor, this study may also make a contribution to a better understanding of the origins of Luther's theology.
