Joshua Harris was quite a smart young fellow to be writing such an insightful, intelligent, and thought provoking book at the age of 19!
The idea of not kissing somone of the opposite gender, especially not touching them (intimately in particular. I.E. holding hands, etc) never even crosses many teenagers minds these days! They almost consider it as expected in our modern sex-focused culture!
Intimacy can quickly evolve in relationships; if not physically, emotionally. Before long, you have told each other that you love one another. Sure, that is sweet and all, but at 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and even 17 years of age, its a little premature! How "sweet" is it when six months later you "love" someone else instead? It makes love very cheap... because at such a young age you are not READY to love like that.
Joshua gently reminds, in a peer-like way, how slowly giving your heart away, "one date at a time" is painful to the both of you. He encourages readers to be respectful of each other in relationships, not jumping into them prematurely, or expecting to much (by way of physical and emotional intimacy).
He encourages teens to enjoy their single years and to prepare themselves for their future spouse, not give little pieces of their heart away, one guy/girl at a time.
I first read this book when I was 16 years old and it revolutionized my thinking on the dating scene! I firmly believe that EVERYONE that is unmarried should read his book! It is simply amazing!
Joshua is witty, caring, intelligent and has good, reasonable illustrations. People of all walks of life and ages (I reccomend 14+ years) will find something enjoyable to take from it for their relationships with the oppsite sex.

GOOD BOOK
THE BOOK WAS EXCELLENT FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO HAD RECENTLY HAD A BREAKUP WITH HER BOYFRIEND AND WAS STARTING TO DOUBT HERSELF ABOUTH HAVING ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP ANYTIME SOON. GOD BLESS THE WRITER OF THIS BOOK. IT SHOULD BE READ BY EVERY TEENAGER. THE TITLE IS A LITTLE MISLEADING, HOWEVER, AS MOST PEOPLE THINK IT MEANS TO NEVER DATE AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE.
