I have used Larry Burkett's Young Couple's Guide to Financial Planning when I was married. Now that I'm divorced, I wanted to find something that I know from experience works and that had the same advice and ideas for budgeting.
Mr. Burkett is very consistent with his beliefs and how the Bible talks about managing money. I will pass this on to my children as they grow, so they will have a better start than I did early on.

Foundationally correct
Although this book doesn't go into many details on exactly how to manage your money as some other books I have read, it does expose the dangers of mismanagement and creates a spiritual foundation for how and why to manage your money properly. This is a very good starting point.
