Thumbing through this book I was immediately attracted by the crisp photographs of scenery and Celtic artifacts, its great maps, and well drawn depictions of Celtic warriors.
Upon reading it I became fascinated by the history, learning all the other places the Celts lived in Europe and how they maintained a scattered unified society before the rise of Rome. This is more than a telling of the past; this book also discusses the modern interest in Celtic symbols, art, heritage, temperament and the influence of the "Celtish consciousness" on our life today. The Celts were one of the great world civilizations and they had an important role in the development of Europe.
This is a beautifully put together book! Today's computer technology was employed to combine all the images into an easily read feast for the eye. Each page has something unusual and fascinating to look at, really drawing you in and making you anxious to learn something new about the historic past. Make this one a gift for anyone any age interested in history, art, comparative religions, metalworking, or archeology . All middle, magnet, and high schools need a copy of this one. Absolutely fascinating.
