Facing Turbulent Times Today!
This book is so needed today. Especially for today's Christian we need a way to hold onto what we've learned over the years, and this book transports the reader in the place of a few Biblical persons. The first person of focus from the bible was Joseph. Joseph went through more than turbulent times as he was practically thrown away by his brothers, then had to deal with false allegations from Potiphour's wife and bore under the unjust treatment of being imprisoned. The author reminds us that all of the trials and tribulations that we face today are to make us stronger, and to help us bear under the pressures that today brings. But most important was how we should alway know that there is hope even under the very unfortunate events as Joseph endured. Joseph was the one who not only saved the land in time of famine but was reunited and supplied with food, his brothers who abandoned him. One other person the author, Mr. MacDonald focused on was King Uzziah who was appointed king at the age of sixteen. Uzziah was very blessed for many years. He did what was right in the sight of the Lord until he was strong. Then he decided to do what a task set aside by God for the priests. Uzziah was so strong willed about doing what he wanted that God smote him with leprosy all the days of his life. Lesson here? When you are fortunate enough to be blessed don;t let it go to your head so far that you forget where you came from and how you were really blessed. Last and by no way least was the prophet Isaiah. It is terriblly unfair to try and wrap up what Mr. MacDonald expounded on in a few sentences but hopefully this review can prompt others to read this very insightful book. Right now I use the book as a handbook - next to my bible it has become a wonderful guide to make the right choices in everyday life.
