Far Out
I read this book twice, once a year ago, cold turkey with no preparation, and again just recently. The first time all I could think was THIS IS WEIRD! As opposed to most books on this subject, it is a good read. It is well written, the person is very easy to identify with (for me) and it made me laugh many times. It is a seeker like myself who has written down her journey complete with pitfalls. She goes at the subject in a unique way from the viewpoint of a person who wants to make a better violin. But, whether or not you know anything about violins at all, makes no difference when it comes to what you can get out of this book. I recommend it.
I got even more out of it the second time I read it after having read several other books on the subject (Hands of Light, Summer with the Leprechauns, Who am I and Why am I Here) Some are text books, some are "channeled" books, which are sometimes repetitive to almost intolerable levels and neither the channeler nor the writer have any experience in writing - pity. That was what made Ears of the Angels stand out in my mind. It had a story, it was going somewhere (and got there BTW) and it was written by a person who could write.
