A female butler/bodyguard seems believable in this plot. While her story unfolds she meets her hero who flutters with suspicion that enhances the story. While you want to root for her love story, it is his failing to believe that makes the best moment in the story. His crushing disappointment in himself and his disgust at his lack of compassion make this believable and humanistic in a way that all plot twists cannot. Human failings make far better love plots than do straight on chemestry (although this is another Howard story - rest assured the chemistry is there). While the end comes faster than expected once it gets going, another story line with these two characters in the future would be believable. Recommended because the hero is human and allows us to believe that we can all have a man like that if we want.

Awesome Book!
This is by far my favorite book to read, I am a huge Linda Howard fan. The book is about a butler/bodygaurd named Sarah Stevens working for a federal judge. The judges house gets broken into and Sarah saves the day, all but to soon to find out she has an possesive/obsessive stalker who wants her all to her self, but her fancied police detective from the robbery comes and saves the day. Linda Howard knows just how to keep you on your toes with suspense and your eyes glued to the pages with passion. This was the first book I ever read and enjoyed and have loved it ever since.
