I have researched my family's genealogy back to when the first Baptist church was built on the western side of the Mississippi in 1804-1806. I was disappointed that this book does not go back that far. It seems to start around 1860 instead. So, for my studies, the book is useless. But it appears to be a good study of the later churches peopled by the African-Americans.
