This short book by Robert Bly touches on some valuable insights in Sections 1, 2 and 3, but after that it fails to deliver any more useful information. "Iron John" is much better Robert Bly, and the short book "Owning Your Own Shadow" by Robert S. Johnson is a better presentation of the theme. This book is an assemblage of various documents. One example is the transcript of a live interview, which capsizes the content of the book. In typical Bly fashion, all is explained in metaphor that you have to decipher. The over-abundance of poetic phrases is one example. I bought this at a very reasonable price so it was not a total disappointment.
