Liked much of it but felt an editor hand was sorely needed. Consequently it had far too much by way of detail and description. Also there are some gross inaccuracies about the sundry tribes. Author needs to check his facts. Would excise about 50 pages worth of bloviating extraneous detail.

Fun read
Being a Texan, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about events in Texas history - quite different than expressed in multiple John Ford movies...in this case, the truth is better than fiction...
The author is excellent in telling the story about a noble people - who were both peaceful and ruthless - and how early Texas dealt with opening the west for an expanding country...
