Amazing
Time after time Alexander McCall Smith continues to entertain and bewilder with his talent for creating situations to emphasize the regard for basic ethics and logic used by Precious in resolving the simplest and most complex of problems. I enjoyed getting to know Grace as she comes to the forefront and Precious tries to steer her into coming to terms with her future expectations concerning her fiance. We all have a pair of "Blue Shoes" in our life, which adds to the pleasure derived from this enchanting book.

Alexander McCall Smith is a hidden jewel of a writer. I have read every book in every series but the most delightful and compassionate characters are the gentle, kind, ethical, and caring detectives of the Number One Detective Agency. If only life could be so reliable. What wonderful people, who so diligently pursue their work, their dedication to the land, the people, and the orphan. Don't miss them. And I like the original approach to the behaviors of people in all the books, the exploration of philosophies, people growing as they learn how to cope with life and ways of making the experience meaningful.
