Pleasently Surprised!!
I actually read this book when a friend lent it to me, but after reading it had to have it for my library and future reference!
I am an evangelist in heart. I have this strong desire to witness to the lost, to see souls won to the Kingdom. However, over the years, I have become suspicious of the vast majority of the evangelists and televangelist (most of which are not true evangelists). I had unwittingly lumped Billy Graham into this category.
What struck me most in reading this book is that Billy Graham does have a sincere heart to serve the Lord and the body as an evangelist. I was encouraged by his words and he clarified satisfactorily any questions or doubts I had about his ministry.
No-one is perfect. But Mr. Graham has done his best to follow what he believes to be what God has called him to do. God can work with us when we step out in obedience. It is much harder for Him to use us when refuse to even try.
I learned alot. Mr. Grahams evangelistic message is simple, effective and biblical. His call to unity in heart and standards of conduct for all evangelists is commendable.
