Z Altug, PT, DPT, MS, CSCS, is a licensed physical therapist and performance specialist with more than twenty-five years of experience in his field. Z worked at the UCLA Medical Center outpatient rehabilitation department for 12 years as a physical therapist and now works as a private consultant. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy, and obtained his master of science degree in sport and exercise studies and a bachelor of science degree in physical education from West Virginia University. Z also completed a transitional doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT) from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota and is a longstanding member of the American Physical Therapy Association, California Physical Therapy Association, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Z is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and personal trainer (NSCA-CPT). Additionally, he was twice certified by USA Track and Field as a Level 1 Coach and twice by USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Sport Performance Coach. Z also has completed workshops and classes in yoga, tai chi, qigong, the Pilates method, the Feldenkrais Method, and the Alexander Technique to further expand his knowledge of body movement. Beyond sharing his knowledge and experience with personal clients, Z extends his reach through writing. Z coauthored Patalosh: The Time Travelers (Createspace, 2015), 2012 Healthy Lifestyle Wall and Engagement Calendars (TF Publishing, 2011), The Anti-Aging Fitness Prescription (Hatherleigh Press, 2006), and the Manual of Clinical Exercise Testing, Prescription and Rehabilitation (Appleton & Lange, 1993). He has now written Sustainable Fitness: A Practical Guide to Health, Healing, and Wellness (Createspace, 2016), which provides practical health, fitness, and healing strategies for clinicians and clients.
