Doctor Wendy Gillespie was born in Waihi, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand in 1965. She is a very family oriented person and is passionate about early childhood development. This is Wendy's first children's book and is based on an event in the life of Carter, who is one of her six grandchildren. Wendy, a mum of two, Angie and Jonathan, returned to the workforce after qualifying as a primary school teacher in 1993. Her thirst for academic learning led her to pursue two Masters programmes, one in Business Management and the other in Public Policy. Wendy completed her PhD in Strategic Management in 2011 and is currently using that research to develop a series of workbooks for business managers. Today Wendy spends most of her time in the corporate world helping businesses with change management and strategic planning, however she is also an accomplished artist. Her landscapes and seascape oil paintings have grained such notoriety that a New York gallery has featured her art in a solo exhibition, which also doubled as the launch venue for this book. Wendy penned all of the words and illustrations in Carter and the tooth fairy. See less
