Wallace Terry, born in Harlem in 1938, attended Brown University and the University of Chicago, and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard. He worked as a reporter for the Washington Post and later Time magazine, where he covered the Civil Rights Movement in America and the Vietnam War.
