Ulrich Wittrock studied physics at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany, and at the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA, where he received the Master's degree in physics in 1988. Ulrich Wittrock studied physics at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany, and at the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA, where he received the Master's degree in physics in 1988. In 1988 he began graduate study at the Technical University of Berlin in the research group of Prof. Weber. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Berlin in 1993. Since 1995 he is professor at the University of Applied Sciences at Muenster in the Department of Applied Physics. In 2002 he spent a sabbatical at Stanford University. Ulrich Wittrock developed several new concepts for solid state lasers. His early and continuing interest is the influence of thermo-optical aberrations on laser resonators. His current research activities include adaptive optics for solid state lasers and advanced diode-pumped solid state lasers. See less
