He has also developed 12 players who have signed professional contracts and more than 85 who have gone on to play college baseball. A former professional baseball player and 1989 conference Player of the Year, Mongero played Division I baseball at UNC-Wilmington, where he was voted onto the All-Decade team. He has also instructed at top college camps, including the University of South Carolina (2010 and 2011 Division I National Champions). A resident of Gainesville, GA, he is currently an associate scout for the Boston Red Sox and recently launched the Winning Baseball Academy, which brings elite baseball instruction to anyone, anywhere in the US.
