Tommie Sue Montgomery has been traveling, doing research and occasionally living in Latin America since 1976. She spent 25 years doing research in El Salvador and is the author of three books and numerous articles on the country. She has also lived in Mexico, Belize, Nicaragua, and Argentina. Tommie Sue Montgomery has been traveling, doing research and occasionally living in Latin America since 1976. She spent 25 years doing research in El Salvador and is the author of three books and numerous articles on the country. She has also lived in Mexico, Belize, Nicaragua, and Argentina. Dr. Montgomery is the recipient of three Fulbright awards and, in 2013, was honoured by her alma mater, Wesleyan College in Georgia, for "Distinguished Achievement in a Profession." Since 2005 she has lectured on cruise ships from Baja California to Cape Horn, up the Amazon, and across the Atlantic.
