TIMOTHY MATTHEW SLEMMONS is Associate Professor of Homiletics and Worship at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Read Preacher/Scholar Award (1994), his publications include Groans of the Spirit: Homiletical Dialectics in an Age of Confusion (2010); Year D: A Quadrennial Supplement to the Revised Common Lectionary (2012); the 4-volume series, Liturgical Elements for Reformed Worship (2013-14); and The Freedom of Christ: Sermons on Galatians (2015). His illustrated stories include The Secret of Salix Babylonicus: A Parable of the Weeping Willow (2014), and (with artist Danielle Baudouin) A Phenomenal Llama: A Tall Christmas Tale for Children of All Ages (2013). His poems in The Just Quiet Wind, and his songs on The Word in the Wind (CD) loosely follow the liturgical calendar and the lectionary. Ever the indie artist and author, his first album, A Soundtrack for the Close of the Age, appeared on cassette only in 1991. See less
