Sylvia Kent
Sylvia Kent is a member of the Brentwood Historical Society and later the Brentwood Writers' Circle. She is now their vice president. In 1994 she was commissioned to write a regular history column for the Brentwood Weekly News , and later her work appeared in the Brentwood Gazette , Essex Chronicle , and Essex Life magazine. She digitized her vintage postcards and photographs of views of local towns, and still uses these images for on-line nostalgic articles in her blog and Archant's Enjoy Brentwood More articles. Appointed a Fellow of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists, Sylvia is also a vice president and their archivist. She has recently been awarded the John Walter (founder of The Times ) silver salver for Journalism. From 1979 until 2005, she worked regularly for Hansard in Westminster. She enjoys broadcasting and has contributed to national, regional and Brentwood-based Phoenix FM radio since it was launched in 1996. See less
