He won the Prix Nicolas Lambert, the most coveted national journalism award, in 1979 and has authored or co-authored five books on the history and culture of his country. He supported the independance of his country as a journalist at L'Express in 1968 and has been a close observer of the country's constitutional and legal evolution ever since.
