There he became the director of development for Wolfgang Petersen, helping develop films such as "Outbreak," "Bicentennial Man, " and "Air Force One." "Beat" is his second novel, a sequel to "Boulevard." Schwartz currently lives in Southern California with his wife and two young boys.
