Stephen C. Behrendt is George Holmes Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and author of Shelley and His Audiences )1989), Reading William Blake (1992), and Royal Mourning and Regency Culture: Elegies and Memorials of Princess Charlotte (1997). He edited Approaches to Teaching Shelley's Frankenstein (1990). He is currently working on a book about British women writers and radicalism in the Romantic period.
