Stanley Vestal

Stanley Vestal (Walter S. Campbell) was a distinguished writer in the field of western history, the author of verse, biography, history, criticism, fiction, regional studies, and textbooks on professional writing. Some of his best-known books include Happy Hunting Grounds and Sitting Bull: Champion of the Sioux (both published by the University of Oklahoma Press in 1957).
