Slávka Tomas íková is an associate professor in the field of cultural studies at Pavol Jozef Safárik University in Kosice in Slovakia. She speaks Slovak, English and Russian. Slávka Tomas íková is an associate professor in the field of cultural studies at Pavol Jozef Safárik University in Kosice in Slovakia. She speaks Slovak, English and Russian. In 2009 she finished her habilitation procedure in the field of Non-Slavic Languages and Literatures - British and American Studies. Her current research focuses on narratives in media discourses and she teaches courses in British studies and interpretation of media texts. She has been a guarantor of the Gender Studies and Culture study programme. She gave plenary lectures at international conferences in Romania, Spain, Poland, Albania, Hungary and Serbia. She has been a President of the Slovak Association for the Study of English, a Secretary of the European Society for the Study of English (2008-2013), and the Vice-Rector for International Relations of P.
