Simone Di Mitri is senior staff scientist in particle accelerator physics at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, and contract professor at the University of Trieste, Department of Physics, Italy. He has extensive research experience in particle beam physics, with an accent on beam collective effects and manipulation of electron beams, and production of short wavelength radiation at storage ring light sources and free-electron lasers. He has contributed to the design study of several coherent and incoherent light sources, he participated to the commissioning of the Daphne collider, the Elettra synchrotron light source, and the FERMI free-electron laser in Italy. He is serving extensively on international advisory committees and scientific program committees of particle accelerator and light source conferences. He has co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications, and trained many undergraduates and graduates in accelerator physics. See less
