Shirley Walters

Shirley Walters is Professor of Adult and Continuing Education at University of the Western Cape, South Africa, where she has been immersed as an advocate for adult and lifelong learning for over 25 years. She is a feminist scholar-activist, who directs the Division for Lifelong Learning, is chairperson of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and is engaged in civil society to enhance and widen access to learning for the majority of women and men.
