Shiriki Kumanyika holds a B.A. from Syracuse University, Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, a Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from Cornell, and Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and at the Dept. of Pediatrics, Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. She is currently Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and at the Dept. of Pediatrics, Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. She has chaired the U.S. National Nutrition Monitoring Advisory Committee, served on two U.S. Dietary Guidelines Committees, on the Public Health Service Commission on Dietary Supplement Labels, and as a Consultant to the Centers for Disease Control. Dr. Kumanyikas research focuses on the role of nutritional factors on obesity and related health problems such as hyptertension and diabetes. Ross C. Brownsons primary research interests are in chronic disease epidemiology and community intervention. He was the senior editor of the book, Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Control. Dr. Brownson is a board member of the American Cancer Soceity, and a member of the Epidemiology Governing Council for the American Public Health Association. See less
