Shigeru Ban
Japanese architect Shigeru Ban was born in Tokyo, 1957. His creative designs, often made from recycled paper and cardboard, have sheltered disaster victims and labled Ban an Ecological Architect. He has won a number of awards for his work, including the World Architecture Award: "Best House in the World" (2002); the Gengo Matsui Award for the Japan Pavilion (2001), and The JIA Prize for the best young architect of the year (1997).
