As a teacher, writer, and storyteller for twenty-nine years, Sherry Fair has helped students ages from four to eighty-four create and develop characters and stories. As a teacher, writer, and storyteller for twenty-nine years, Sherry Fair has helped students ages from four to eighty-four create and develop characters and stories. Her students have presented their work in written form and in performances for churches, schools, summer workshops, and community events. Sherry shares her own characters and stories in the Spatz series, which features the real-life experiences of her Sheltie, Stonerhaven Carolina Spatz. The duo travels the United States for school visits, teacher workshops, readings, and signings. Sherry has a bachelor's degree in English from Columbia College and is a member of the Aiken chapter of the South Carolina Writers Workshop and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She and Spatz share homes in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains and the South Carolina Midlands with Sherry's husband, Dr. Hal Fair.
