Shaun Cain has been a huge fan of Reggae music for many years. He grew up listening to Reggae chart shows on the radio, especially the Eleven to Forty on the now defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation, JBC, Radio One. The Top Ten Today chart show with the late John Wakeling on Radio Jamaica, (RJR) was an all-time favourite of his. Shaun also remembers watching Music-Music on JBC Television on Saturday evenings. Music-Music presented some of the most popular Reggae music videos. Richard 'Richie B' Burgess' radio show, the Beat among others and the emergence of IRIE FM with its all-Reggae format also helped to reinforce his love for the genre. Shaun is a freelance news writer for the UK edition of a popular Jamaican weekly publication. He has also worked in the electronic media as a reporter, producer and presenter for several years. He produced and presented the entertainment magazine programme, On Stage...Off Stage during the Sunday Swizzle with veteran broadcaster, Fae Ellington (JBC Radio). He also produced and presented the Entertainment Mix and Showbeat, also on JBC Radio. During these times, he interviewed celebrated artistes including General Trees, Frisco Kid, Ghost and Culture, General Degree, Luciano, Roundhead, Balloon, Beenie Man and T.O.K at the genesis of their career. In 1997 when RJR acquired the JBC's assets, he went to work for the new owners. There, he presented the Sport news and the road traffic update programme, the Roving Report. He left the station in 1998 to further his education. Education Shaun holds Marketing certificates from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), as well as its Professional Postgraduate Marketing Diploma. In 1998 he enrolled on a postgraduate Marketing programme at the University of Lincoln. He graduated the following year with a Master of Arts Degree. He worked briefly in the banking sector in the UK before returning to full time education. In 2004 he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and Training (PGCE) at the University of Greenwich. He subsequently pursued a career in teaching. In 2012, Shaun registered at Sheffield Hallam University. Three years later he graduated with his second Master of Arts Degree (Corporate Communication). See less
