Lieutenant Colonel Scott Daniel Aiken has served at various posts throughout the world with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, where he grew up in Donelson. Lieutenant Colonel Scott Daniel Aiken has served at various posts throughout the world with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, where he grew up in Donelson. He graduated from McGavock High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in geology from Vanderbilt University. He later received a master's degree in public administration from Troy State University in 1998, and a master's degree in military arts and science from the United States Army Command and General Staff College in 2000. After being commissioned into the United States Marine Corps as a second lieutenant on May 10, 1985, Aiken attended The Basic School and Infantry Officer's Course at the Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico, Virginia. As a captain, he graduated from the U.S. Army Infantry Officer Advanced Course and Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was recently deployed to eastern Africa as the current operations officer of the joint taskforce in support of the Global War on Terrorism. His personal decorations include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, Two meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals, and the Navy Achievement Medal. See less
