She is past president of two international associations -- the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) and the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T). She is also an active leader in the American Library Association, serving on the Center for the Future of Libraries Advisory Committee among other roles, and in IFLA serving on both the Section on Education and Training and on the Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning Committee.
