SAM SCIULLO JR. attended his first Pitt football game in 1965, a few weeks after his sixth birthday. He saw every Panthers' game at Pitt Stadium from 1966 through 1981. He has been involved in Pitt athletics in a number of capacities since childhood, including seven years (1990-1997) as a member of its sports information office. He has been involved in Pitt athletics in a number of capacities since childhood, including seven years (1990-1997) as a member of its sports information office. He also served stints at Texas A&M (1982-1987) and Robert Morris College (1987-1990). He has earned numerous citations for Excellence in Writing and Publications from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was the editor of Inside Panthers Sports Magazine from 1997-2002, and played a key role in the creation of the McCarl Hall of Champions at Petersen Events Center.
