Sadia Sulaiman is an assistant professor at the Area Study Centre for Africa, North and South America, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, Pakistan. She completed her PhD from S. Sadia Sulaiman is an assistant professor at the Area Study Centre for Africa, North and South America, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, Pakistan. She completed her PhD from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Apart from teaching, she has worked as a consultant with the UNDP, DFID, GIZ, German Federal Foreign Office, University of Peshawar and FATA Research Centre (FRC) on the ongoing post-conflict reconstruction process in former FATA. Before joining QAU, Dr Sulaiman worked as the Senior Research Analyst in Terrorism and Insurgency Unit (TIRU) at Thomson Reuters in Singapore. She is a Fulbright Fellow, and has also worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). Her areas of expertise include post-conflict reconstruction, counter-terrorism, countering violent extremism, governance reforms in fragile states, security sector reforms and transitional justice. Hailing from a conflict-affected former tribal area of Pakistan, she focuses upon Pakistan and Afghanistan in her research. See less
