In the mid-1950s, Ron Kramer was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up in a Catholic home but left the church as a teenager. After several years of living away from the Lord, yet searching for truth in his heart, Ron had a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ midway through his first year of college. Ron soon became a part of an inter-denominational group of high school and college age believers that first met in a person's home. Later, they gathered weekly in a barn that was converted into a place where meetings could be held. Under the covering of mature believers, this group of young converts experienced New Testament-type fellowship, leadership development, and evangelistic growth. Ron finished his undergraduate degree in music, but his passion had changed as a result of his conversion. In 1982, Ron attended Christ for the Nations. He graduated in the spring of 1984. After marrying his wife, Debbie, in February if 1985, Ron worked in the marketplace for 28 years while engaging in lay ministry as a Bible teacher, worship team member and home group leader in non-denominational and Assemblies of God churches in the greater Milwaukee area. He held ministry credentials with the Assemblies of God for about three years. Part of that time, he served as an associate pastor. In 2012, Ron and his wife felt a call to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where they became involved with Gateway Church. He received his Master's Degree in Practical Theology from the King's University in Southlake, Texas. After a few years, Ron joined the staff of Gateway Church serving with the adult education department known as Equip. His ministry responsibilities include teaching, developing curriculum and promoting a transformational discipleship experience for those who attend Gateway. Ron and his wife have been married for over 32 years. Together they had two sons, Jesse and Jordan. Both are now married and serve in full-time ministry. Currently, they have two grandchildren, Molly Rose and Owen Francis. In addition to his love for teaching, Ron has a passion for writing. Though this is his first published work, he has plans for several more works that include other topics from the life of David as well as a devotional. See less
