Roger Just originally studied Classics at the University of Melbourne. In 1982, he was appointed Assistant Director of the British School at Athens (also known as the British School of Archaeology), a position he held for three years until 1985, when he returned to Australia, where he was appointed Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in Modern Greek, and subsequently Anthropology, at the University of Melbourne. In 2002, he was appointed Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Kent, retiring in 2010. See less
