Robert Hunter has been involved in writing and activism since the early 1960s. Robert Hunter has been involved in writing and activism since the early 1960s. In the year 2000, Time magazine named him one of the ten eco-heroes of the previous century for his role as a pioneer in ecological activism and as a co-founder of Greenpeace. As a recognized figure in the field -and as a "grand old man" of ecological activism - he was also a speaker at a climate-change conference in The Hague. Hunter is the author of a number of books (including co-author of Occupied Canada, which won a Governor General's Award) written between forays into politics and attempts to raise awareness about climate crisis.
