Robert Gilbert
Rev. Robert Lewis Gilbert was the first African American male graduate of Baylor University, a well-known civil rights leader and Baptist pastor in Central Texas, and the radio host of "Walking in Faith Ministries." Commemorating his life and legacy at Baylor, three scholarships; a memorial lampost; a portrait in the Religion Department, and a statue located in front of the Tidwell Bible Building are dedicated in his honor.
