Rick Soper was born in Watsonville, California. He grew up in nearby Salinas, where he attended Palma High School, before moving on to attend and graduate from Fresno State. After school he went into television production, working for a local cable channel as a producer, director, editor, and cameraman. Over the years he produced everything from teen TV programs, to aerobics shows, to cooking shows, to live sports, and music shows. Rick Soper was born in Watsonville, California. He grew up in nearby Salinas, where he attended Palma High School, before moving on to attend and graduate from Fresno State. After school he went into television production, working for a local cable channel as a producer, director, editor, and cameraman. Over the years he produced everything from teen TV programs, to aerobics shows, to cooking shows, to live sports, and music shows. From TV he moved on to a short stint as a campaign manager. Then he moved on to his current profession as a financial advisor. Over the years he's taught television production at the local community college, and continues to produce and direct commercials. Rick currently lives in Central California with his two dogs, where he enjoys cooking, traveling, and writing. He is known to crank up the volume and attempt to play his guitar, but has yet to learn a complete song. He is obsessive about going to the gym, Fresno State Football, and NFL RedZone. Rick was influenced by growing up watching Hammer Horror films, classic James Whale pictures like Frankenstein, and reading Marvel Comic's, before moving on to Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Clive Barker. More recently he finds himself reading Chelsea Cain F. Paul Wilson, James Rollins, Stieg Larsson, Val McDermid, and Lee Child. Rick is a lifelong music fan who enjoys Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Oasis, the Smiths and a whole host of others. See less
