Author Rick Laird has lived his whole life in northwest Indiana, except the years he proudly served in the United States Air Force. He and his wife, Denise, are the proud parents of three incredible children: Rebecca, (Tim) Holly, and Luke. They have also been blessed with six amazing grandkids: Haleigh, Asher, Madilyn, Noelle, Josephine, and Briella. Rick studied engineering at Purdue-Calumet and, while in the Air Force, worked and studied as a site development specialist. After his time in the military, he worked twenty-two years in the engineering field. He currently is employed as a school bus driver. Besides traveling with his wife across the United States, his main interest is the mission field. He has enjoyed spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the good people in Tanzania, Russia, Mongolia, and Cambodia, with trips scheduled for Zambia and India. Rick also works as a Chaplain for an Assisted Living facility in Crown Point, Indiana. Rick also enjoys (in his free time) painting, antiquing, learning to play the piano, and especially loves his time spent hanging with his family. Traveling, and camping, with his family as a teen to Washington DC was an exciting way to catch the travel bug for life. Rick and Denise began taking their amazing journeys several years ago and this book is a result of the love God gave them to travel this beautiful country. They plan to continue their travels, visit all fifty states and, God willing, see more and more fun, fantastic sites. See less
