RICHARD WEIGHT is a writer and broadcaster based in London. He is the author of 'We Are The Modernists! The Rise and Reign of British Youth Culture Since 1950' (2009) and 'Patriots: National Identity in Britain 1940-2000' (2002), which was shortlisted for the 2003 Orwell Prize for political writing. He has written and presented documentaries for the BBC and discusses the nature of modern Britain on productions as diverse as The Today Programme and Richard and Judy.
