Richard Reti
Richard Reti was one of the premier grandmasters in the first part of the 20th century. His revolutionary ideas and original approach to the game help lay the foundation for what was to become known as "Hypermodern" Chess. His two works, Modern Ideas in Chess and Masters of the Chessboard are both considered classics. He died in 1929 at the age of 40.
