Richard Hague, award winning poet, essayist, and fiction writer, was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, and has lived alone during summers in a trailer in rural Monroe County, Ohio. He has thus experienced two distinct settings of Appalachian life--polluted mill town and isolated country ridge.
