His earlier books on magic, mythology, and legends include The Magical Arts , A History of Magic , and King Arthur and the Grail . He edited The Encyclopedia of the Unexplained and the partwork Encyclopedia of the Supernatural: Man, Myth, and Magic (republished in 21 volumes in the US in 1995). He is the author of A Guidebook to Prehistoric England , was for several years editor of Out of Town magazine and planned, contributed to, and edited numerous guidebooks to Britain for the Automobile Association as well as an A-Z gazetteer to Britain, and books on great events of the twentieth century, and wonders of the world. His work has been translated into German, Italian, Swedish, Serbo-Croat, and Japanese, and he has lectured and broadcast in Britain, the USA, Denmark, Canada, and Australia. See less
