Dr. Richard A. Morin graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1958 and completed his internship at Toledo Hospital. Dr. Richard A. Morin graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1958 and completed his internship at Toledo Hospital. After twenty years in practice in general medicine and addiction medicine in Michigan and California, he completed a formal three-year psychiatric residency at Wayne State University Lafayette Clinic in 1983. Prior to his semi-retirement in 1995, Dr. Morin had numerous hospital, professional, and teaching appointments. He was chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Substance Abuse at the Sisters of Mercy's Samaritan Health Center in Detroit, medical director of Samaritan's Health Center Dual Diagnosis Unit and medical director of Detroit Riverview Hospital's traumatic brain injury unit. He also had faculty appointments at Wayne State University Medical School, Lafayette Clinic, and the University of Michigan Medical Schools as director of the Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse at the University of Michigan.
