Ray Scippa earned degrees in creative writing and anthropology from San Francisco State University. Ray Scippa earned degrees in creative writing and anthropology from San Francisco State University. In his first career as an archaeologist and anthropologist he lived and worked in Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Mexico specializing in photography, writing, and publishing. He participated in projects funded by San Francisco State University, Amherst College, the National Science Foundation, Earthwatch International, and Brigham Young University and was a contributing editor to the New World Archaeological Foundations Paper Series. His field and laboratory photography has appeared in numerous scientific and scholarly journals and he made major contributions to books published on several pre-classic archaeological sites. In addition to his current role at ConocoPhillips, Ray's corporate communications experience includes Continental Airlines, Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, and J. Ray McDermott. He currently lives in Houston with his wife Ellen and daughters Carmen, Ashley, and Isabella. See less
