Received MSc (1979) in petroleum chemistry and organic catalysis, PhD (1984) and DSc degrees (2000) in analytical chemistry from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia). In 2006-2018 was awarded Quantum Leap Professor and New Star Professor positions at Australian Centre for Research on Separation Science (ACROSS) and worked at the University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia.
