Dr. Peter Glassman is a retired anesthesiologist, addictionologist and research scientist. He retired in 2009 after writing several novels none of which were then published. Becoming an author followed a long career as a speech writer in Toastmaster's International. Many audiences suggested as a natural story teller he should also write books. His perspectives as a Vietnam wartime physician came out in the thrillers THE EYEMAN, THE DUTY CREW, and THE HAPPY HAT. Also published is his Navy Medical Officer memoirs as short stories in US NAVAL HOSPITAL. With terrorism constantly in the news terrorist thrillers, THE HELIOS RAIN, THE DRUID STONE, and OCEAN CITY HQ presents both the problem and possible solutions. Medical thrillers seemed a natural avenue and with gusto THE MYOSIN FACTOR, BLACKWATER FEVER and THE ADJUSTMENT CLINIC are modern takes on the medical profession and society. Of personal note WHO WILL WEEP FOR ME is a look at high school days and the emergence of the Boston Strangler. Dr. Glassman's knowledge of addiction medicine is blended in the terrorist thriller MY NAME IS KEVIN. To show the world how old west doctors helped pioneers in the 1800's, COTTER seems like a movie with action, history, romance and intrigue. For Coffee & a Short Story he assembled short stories written for the San Antonio writer's club. Any one of them could blossom into a novel. Dr. Glassman lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife, two of his three children and four grandchildren. His medical thrillers and terrorist novels have been a sign of the times since 2003. See less
